What people think of as Kuta actually covers several area – Kuta, Tuban and Legian. Tuban being the southern part, Kuta central and Legian to the north. Lots of shopping in this area as well as the internationally known Kuta Beach. Swim between markers as the rip tide are strong in some areas. Enjoy a sunset stroll on the beach. Kuta Square , Kuta Center and the Discovery Mall are all in this area.
Kuta was made famous by surfer who came here 30 to 50 years ago and still draws swarms of young surfers. The sunset are spectacular. Kuta is home to many low-cost shops and restaurants. This is the place if you want to party, shopping and surfing.
However that being said, Kuta also has it share of fine, family oriented 3, 4 & 5 star hotels with many hotels and establishments being renovated & moving upscale.
